Wel the first song I can remember hearing and actually going " wow, this is music !" Was YES- Without Hope You Cannot Start The Day. I know I heard other music first because my father was always playing something, but I guess this was the first time I was old enough to realize that I was developing musical taste.

It's funny that you say that. I think music boxes are my first music memories. I used to have a stuffed toy cat that wound up and I used to put it under my pillow at night and listen to the melody and all the little cranks turning inside it. I always loved music.

I even remember (for some bizarre reason) exactly where we were at the time. We were travelling in the Transkei with lots of old traditional African huts all around. I can still see it clear as day.
