Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2012 Inductees: Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beastie Boys Are In

[SIZE=2]Cleveland, get ready for one hell of a night. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 2012 inductees will include Guns N' Roses, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beastie Boys.

This year's musician class also includes singer-songwriter Laura Nyro, '60s folk rocker Donovan, Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood's the Faces/Small Faces and late blues legend Freddie King, who will be inducted as an early influence.

Don Kirshner, an executive, songwriter and one of the creators of the Monkees, and producers Tom Dowd, Glyn Johns and Cosimo Matassa round out this year's class.

Among this year's snubs are first-time nominees the Cure, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Heart and Eric B and Rakim. Donna Summer, Rufus with Chaka Khan and Heart also failed to garner the necessary support.

The buzz about this year's ceremony, set for April 14 in Cleveland, will be whether or not Guns N' Roses' classic lineup and the Beastie Boys will perform. GNR's principal members, Axl Rose and Slash, have been embroiled in a bitter feud since the guitarist left the band in 1997.

The Beastie Boys haven't performed since member Adam Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in his parotid gland in 2009. The hip-hop trio released their eighth studio album, 'Hot Sauce Committee Part Two' earlier this year.

The Chili Peppers are pretty much a lock to perform, considering they're touring the U.S. in 2012 behind their latest album, 'I'm With You.' They don't have a show set for April 14.

feel the same about the Beasties MH, however i am a fan of the Peppers singles(dont like their studio albums), also Anthony Keidis "scar tissue" biography is a very good read.
then there's the Gunners, not sure if they deserve a place as "famers"...had a couple of great albums, another couple of good ones, and a couple of real drappy ones, i guess Slash has done enough as a guitarist to warrant a place as a "hall of famer"??maybe?

I would agree with this assessment except I think Lies was brilliant. I think all 3 of the groups mentioned deserve the hall of fame. The Beastie Boys had a huge impact on music and the Chili Peppers offered up a really original sound starting in the 80's and managed to produce good albums throughout the 90's. I cannot stand their last album though. It's like MH usually says some bands should know when to hang it up. They definitely overstayed their welcome.

Thanks, CH ! I was wondering anbout the latest on this ?...As for Guns n' Roses...I cannot understand how in the heck(hel*)two grown men ... perhaps mature, can actually have a falling out , feud or whatever ? Was it over a woman ? Certainly not money !!!!...Don't they realise that they were a part of one of the best bands in rock ????..it just boggles the mind !..same for the Gallagher brothers, and even the Beatles !!!...shame on you..you're all spoiled brats!!!!

You are making millions of bucks, making millions of people happy withy your music, you have lots of food and a roof over your head !!!...what's the problem you sucky little wimps !!!! Is your ego so inflated....remember I am one of the millions who gave you everything you have today !!!! Who do you think you are impressing with your in fighting ? Not me that'ds for sure !!!

Stop and smell the roses....Have a Merry Christmas and embrace its' true meaning..peace,love and goodwill to all living creatures including People.
