I have mis-heard 'razorblade' as 'raisin bread' and 'figure out' as 'fig roll' on Aiden and MCR songs respectively. Might have been peckish at the time?

One that occured to me at work today . The song by Maddness "Our House" . The line witch goes "brother's got a date to keep he can't hang around" I somehow used to always think that it was brother's got a HGV he can't hang around" . For the benifit of those outside of the UK that is what we used to call a licence for a lorry but a few years ago was changed to LGV .

Used to play Vincent a lot at parties, barbecues & pubs. Always thought the last line was 'on the virgin sand'. Found out much later to my never-ending embarrasment that the word was 'snow'. And this was supposed to be my party piece! Professionalism is so over-rated......

Many of the comments here are in good company

Take a listen to the Beatles cover versions of classic Rock and Roll songs......................so often are there "problems' with misheard lyrics

One of the miost interesting is "Too much monkey business" if you listen to George Harriosn working his way through this , it is clear that he has taken the

lyrics from listening to a records and he could not master the accent..................If you listen to the original you can see just how far out he is.

This is very common with English groups copying US rock and roll or R and B!
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

Another one I read about somewhere (probably on the web) was about a misinterpretation of Bob Dismal's 'Blowing in the Wind' The person in question thought the lyrics were 'the ants are my friends, is blowing in the wind' Go figure.....
