Looking for Deep, Haunting, Holy Voice song + Passionate Screaming type song
#1
Hey guys, this might sound weird but I really hope you guys can help me find the two types of music I really like but can't seem to come across them much. I don't know how to identify these type of music so I can't really search for them (don't know what they're called). Please hear me out:

1. The first kind of music I'm looking for is the deep, haunting and holy voice that you hear when a movie plays "the church" theme. Its usually a male voice that makes this sound, but I don't mind if its female either. I'm looking for music (or songs) that SUFFICIENTLY incorporate this kind of sound. An example would be this song - Death Note OST - Kyrie (part 1)

2. The second type of music I am looking for is really passionate shouting while singing kinda music. Like background singers singing "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY" in the background while the main vocals keeps singing the chorus or even the main vocalist is also passionately screaming (without chorus being sung). PLEASE NOTE I am NOT talking about death metal screaming, I'm talking about singing VERY PASSIONATELY AND LOUDLY. Two examples would be:

i. My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words. SKIP OVER TO 3:32 minutes. When song progresses to "asleep or DEEEAAAAAAAAA" the background vocalists take over and passionately screams along with the song.

ii. Kings of Leon - Pyro. Skip over to 1:08 minutes. The part where the song goes "AAAiiiiiii" that is also what I'm looking for.

I know this must sound EXTREMELY weird to you guys, but I REALLY REALLY like these sounds (people have strange preferences right?) and since I don't have a very good knowledge about music, I'm turning to you guys for help. I would really appreciate any suggestions you guys could provide me Smile

Welcome aboard MD, Taehsaen! First of all you posted Chemical Romance twice by mistake I'm sure! No Kings of Leon!

I don't think your request or taste in music is "weird" at all! I love many genres of music myself! I think you will find a lot of this power singing in the progressive rock genre! You will also find it in metal! You just have to be patient and try different artists from these genres...here's a few for you!,,,good luck mate!.try the Dark Ambient genre also!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADIEAW65H5o - Alcest , one of my favourites, always lots of strange vocals!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRNPkJ0ELPc - Within Temptation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oc6zXSdYXm8 - Sigur Ros, amazing band with lots of bizarre vocalese!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMSyf9V10hg - Raison D'etre, always haunting!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku1HJ2DI7Xk- Dead Can Dance ...very good!

I could go on and on but this should get you started! Hope this helps you a little! Listen to other tracks by the artists above. I am sure you will find something you like!Confusedmile:

Hey SteveO, I can't thank you enough for your SUPER kind reply. You are an awesome person! Big Grin
You won't believe how much I appreciate your answer because the question I asked required something REALLY REALLY specific so it must've taken a while to compile that awesome list. I'll give them a listen and get back to you..

And yeah this isn't exactly my music taste per se, but I REALLY love these aspects of some songs and I feel like I don't know enough songs that have some of the things I really like.. Haha but with your great suggestions I'm sure that'll be fixed soon.. I can't thank you enough!

Btw, my original post went missing when I tried to edit the kings of leon link. I'll quote myself below:

Hey man they are all great songs. Alcest - Opale in particular stood out for me and I really loved it! Thanks man!

Anyway, as a side note, do you know what genre Kyrie (the first link I posted on this thread) falls under?
